Will the Government of Ghana Return to IMF for Financial Help?
The Government of Ghana is under intense pressure following the economic situation of the country. Americans media giant Bloomberg published an article describing the economic situation of the country.
The Ministry of Finance has responded by saying Ghana’s economy is on the perfect path. The Finance Ministry has said that the article published by Bloomberg on their website is false.
Bloomberg published that investors are worried over Ghana’s debt. The Budget for 2022 has been not yet been approved by parliament, This has also brought hardship to the country.
Ghana’s debt according to the Ministry of Finance is at 78%. The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta has also said that Ghana will not return to IMF(International Monetary Fund).
Several people in the country are complaining of the current economic woes as they say that things are hard. The Minority in parliament led by Haruna Iddrisu has said that the 2022 budget should be revised or will be rejected again.
The minority caucus has said that Ghana’s economy has totally collapsed therefore this NPP government led by President Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo is a failure.
