The most streamed female artist in 2022 is Wendy Shay, according to Boomplay charts
Wendy Shay, a singer signed to Rufftown Records, was the only female Ghanaian artist to appear on Boomplay’s Top 10 of their weekly Top 100 tracks.
Black Sherif’s “Kwaku The Traveller,” which came in at number 10 on the charts, came in immediately after Wendy Shay’s “Survivor” on the charts.
Given Wendy Shay’s accomplishment during the middle of the year, it is not surprising that she will close 2022 as the female musician with the most streams. Gyakie and Diana Hamilton, who came in second and third, were overtaken by her.
One of the songs that brought Wendy Shay to the attention of audiences all around the world is titled “Survivor,” and it tells the uplifting narrative of how to pick up the pieces of your life after experiencing a broken heart.
Also, the release of her “Enigma EP,” which included the popular “Habibi” challenge, propelled her music to the top as one of the most streamed artists in 2022. This helped her secure her position at the top.
Wendy Asiamah Addo’s arrival in the music industry coincided with a period of upheaval. Her determination and fortitude have been on display in the accessible hit songs that she has produced.
