The All-New McLaren 720s: A Technological Masterpiece
The McLaren 720s is an all-new supercar, with only 50 of them being produced in total each year. This might seem like a lot at first glance, but considering the 720s’ 2 million dollar starting price and its numerous technological advancements, it’s actually quite reasonable!
If you were to buy one of these technologically-advanced supercars, here are some of the things you would see in your next McLaren 720s review.
Features of the McLaren 720S
The new McLaren 720S is a truly amazing supercar. Just by looking at it, you will notice how much better it is than its predecessor, which was one of my favorite supercars.
When you first take a look at it, you will be amazed by its design and craftsmanship. It has a clear carbon fiber body that makes for a stronger shell with less weight, but with the same strength as steel.
The windscreen gives everyone inside an incredible view of everything outside, and there are roof vents to keep everyone cool on hot days. It comes equipped with two seats in front and one in the back for optimal comfort and roominess.
McLaren 720s is made so well that it can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds! That’s fast enough to beat out most other cars on today’s market!
With such great features, what else could you ask for? Well, if you have about $300,000 USD lying around, then I guess you could ask for more.
The engine of a car can make or break it. With so many engines on today’s market, it is hard to know which one to pick.
I’m glad that you don’t have to worry about such things when buying a McLaren 720s because its twin-turbo 3.8L V8 Engine makes sure that you are always going fast enough to get where you need to go in time and still have plenty of power left over for everything else!
That’s not all though; this car also comes with multiple drive modes so that you can choose how your car performs based on how you want it to perform.
This car is practically a computer on wheels. It comes with an array of tools and features to make your drive easier, safer, and more convenient than ever before.
There are features such as proximity sensors that beep if you’re too close to another object while driving, and there is also a speed limiter which can be set by using buttons on your steering wheel.
To make it even easier to communicate while driving, there is a wireless mobile phone charging built right into your dashboard!
Of course, no car would be complete without airbags for safety purposes in case of an accident. In fact, there is even rear camera technology installed so that you can watch what’s going on behind you at all times!
Performance of the McLaren 720S
Upon first glance, you will immediately notice how sleek and aerodynamic its body is. This vehicle features a three-stage active dynamic system that’s designed to harness every ounce of power available in its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine.
The result? The fastest vehicle to ever be built by McLaren with a 0-60 mph time of 2.9 seconds, 0-100 mph in 6.8 seconds, and a top speed of 204 mph. Needless to say, there is nothing on the road that can touch it!
The engine features a remarkable power output of 710 hp at 7,500 rpm and 568 lb.-ft. of torque, which is no surprise given that it uses four turbochargers a first for any road car from McLaren.
An added benefit to its impressive performance? The vehicle’s fuel efficiency is measured in miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe), and according to U.S. standards, it rates up to 26 MPG in city driving and 21 MPG on highways!
What’s more? This incredible hybrid model can also travel 15 miles solely on electric power alone with zero emissions generated.
That makes it perfect for those who prefer urban environments and want to enjoy an exotic luxury vehicle without drawing attention from law enforcement or crowds of pedestrians!
However, unlike most hybrids on today’s market, you won’t have to wait long between refueling as well as it takes just six minutes to fill up your tank when using premium unleaded gasoline.
Weighing in at 3,241 pounds, with a length of 176 inches and width of 74 inches, you might think that all that muscle would make for sluggish handling. But you couldn’t be further from the truth!
Thanks to its advanced engineering systems and lightweight materials used throughout construction (like carbon fiber!), it has been dubbed one of the most agile cars ever built by McLaren.
As a result? It can change direction faster than any other car on today’s market making it perfect for both urban environments and open highways alike.
The suspension system is also fully adjustable, so if you want to take your vehicle off-roading or onto an uneven terrain, there are settings available that will help keep your tires planted firmly on the ground while still providing optimal handling.
The steering system is also highly responsive thanks to an electric power steering system; meaning you’ll never have to worry about being oversteered or understeered when driving around sharp corners!
In addition, safety features like traction control and electronic stability control are included as well which means even novice drivers can get behind their wheel without feeling intimidated or overwhelmed by how powerful it is.
Price and release date of the McLaren 720S
The McLaren 720s were revealed to European markets earlier in 2017. Prices for most variants begin at around £200,000 ($300,000). The high-performance model, costing £244,500 ($350,000), goes on sale in June of 2017. Deliveries are expected to start in September.
This is a sharp increase from its predecessor’s price tag, which began at just under $1 million. However, given that it’s a brand new car with improved performance and technology, it’s not surprising that it comes with a hefty price tag.
For example, you can expect to pay $335K for a base model Mercedes S63 AMG. The Porsche 911 Turbo starts at $149K while an Audi R8 V10 Plus will set you back $172K (both cars have less power than the McLaren).
That said, if you want something truly special, there aren’t many options out there that come close to matching what McLaren has created here. Read Also On McLaren P1.
