The 2022 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ has been designed with high-tech materials that allow it to go faster than any other car on the road today.
The standard version of the Aventador S costs $445,000. The Superveloce Roadster version is an additional $90,000 over that. So for all intents and purposes, you can expect to pay around $535,000 for a new Aventador SVJ in 2022.
That’s more than double what you’d have paid just five years ago. But it’s also a fraction of what some other supercars cost and it’s well worth it when you consider how much better it is than everything else on the road today.
As if that wasn’t enough, you also get some of the best performance you can buy today.
The dual-clutch seven-speed transmission combines with a 6.5-liter V12 engine to produce 759 horsepower and 509 pound-feet of torque, which is almost as much torque as a Ford F-150 F-350 Super Duty crew cab pickup truck.
That makes it one of most powerful cars on sale today, and it’s no slouch in terms of speed either.
What Makes it Special?
The new 2022 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ might be a few years off from hitting dealerships, but now that its official specs have been released, it’s finally clear just how awesome it’s going to be.

But as we all know by now, when it comes to Lamborghinis, price is no object and if you want an SVJ, you better be ready to shell out six figures up front.
So if it’s that expensive, what are you getting for your money? First off, it’s important to note that in order to qualify as an SVJ, a car must be more powerful than any other production car on sale today.
Not only is its engine larger than anything else out there including Bugatti’s Veyron it also manages to achieve mind-boggling power-to-weight ratio numbers.
With a combined 963 horsepower, those who opt for a manual transmission can get from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds.
That’s not only faster than anything on sale today, it’s also nearly as fast as an F-22 Raptor fighter jet.
Where to Buy?
The only place that you can pre-order a 2022 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is through their dealership network.

The big question, of course, is whether or not it will be worth my while to wait for production of the SVJ to ramp up.
There are plenty of early adopters that would jump at a chance to get their hands on what could very well be Lamborghini’s fastest car ever made. For me personally though? I think I’ll pass.
That’s because, personally, I think it would be worth my while to wait for production of a more exciting Lamborghini.
According to Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali, an SUV and a mid-engine car are both on their way in 2023 and 2024 respectively.
Design (Exterior and Interior)
With its new all-carbon body, a longer wheelbase and a width that has increased by more than 5 cm (two inches), plus larger air intakes and grilles and two centrally placed exhausts, it is immediately clear that little is left of what we knew so far as the Huracán. The lines are sharper, more aggressive and tauter than on previous models.
The most striking element of all, however, is at once simple and ingenious: Lamborghini has created an air channel beneath those air intakes that splits into two ducts running either side of a new hexagonal grille.
This ‘Aerodynamics Lamborghini Attiva’ ALA for short system creates downforce and sucks hot air from inside out of its engine bay to create a vacuum so as to reduce drag.
At speeds over 120 km/h (75 mph), ALA can generate up to 70 kg (150 lb.) of downforce at each wheel.
This means that, in combination with other aerodynamic elements such as front splitter and rear spoiler integrated into bodywork, it enables a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph).
At low speeds it reduces lift by 50 percent compared with conventional models. (Read also: Lamborghini Veneno).
The engine in current, second-generation Aventador is a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 with 700 horsepower and 509 pound-feet of torque. The one in its successor promises more, though.
First up is a Balanced setting, which will have almost all of that 700 horsepower directed to all four wheels and will launch it from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 2 seconds.
An efficiency mode, on the other hand, directs power to where it’s needed most: whichever wheel has less grip.
When accelerating out of a corner, for example, more power is sent to that wheel; on a straightaway, it could send 100 percent of its engine’s torque to just two wheels. It will have some form of all-wheel drive. (Read about Lamborghini Veneno Top Speed).
Performance Option Types
About 13 years ago, you couldn’t wait to get your hands on a 6-speed manual transmission.
But then they became almost nonexistent, and now it seems like only certain hardcore sport compact cars come with manuals.
Luckily, performance car manufacturers are bringing them back sort of. The six-speed transmission is dead for now.
Welcome to a new world in shifting gears, where there are almost as many options for gearboxes as there are propulsion systems and some vehicles offer both.
Want an automatic? You can have that but it might not be exactly what you think. Let’s take a look at all of these different transmissions and how they work.

The Lamborghini Vision concept car was ahead of its time in terms of safety features.
Its headlights were self-adjusting, and additional sensors would alert a driver if another vehicle was in their blind spot.
Although it’s unlikely that all these features will appear on future cars, expect to see more active safety systems like automatic braking and lane assist on new models.
Most major manufacturers are working on bringing these technologies to market within a few years. Notably, Tesla is already leading the way with its Autopilot feature.
With more data available about driving patterns and accidents across different demographics, expect to see a shift away from designing cars for crash protection towards engineering vehicles for collision avoidance.
The wait is finally over. The 2022 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ has just been officially unveiled by Ferruccio himself, and it looks better than even we imagined.
With improved aerodynamics, an incredibly powerful V12 engine, and a streamlined design, it’s going to make all previous models look dated as soon as it hits dealerships.
This is no surprise; with Ferruccio at its helm for 70 years now, we’ve come to expect excellence from every single vehicle.
