Introduction: Executive Summary
Ferrari has been making some of the most technologically advanced cars in history, and its latest model, Ferrari 488, is no exception.
When it comes to speed, style, and luxury this Ferrari leads by example. Let’s take a look at how it stacks up against its competition.
Ferrari prides itself on being an innovator when it comes to technology and design, so if you’re looking for cutting-edge features and high-end amenities in your next car, then you may want to consider investing in a new Ferrari 488.
Here are just a few of its many impressive features ● Track Mode: Designed with track racing in mind, Ferrari’s newest feature lets drivers go from 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds flat.
This mode lets drivers take advantage of their vehicle’s maximum power output.
● V8 Engine: One thing that makes Ferrari stand out from other vehicles is its engine quality.
It uses turbocharged engines rather than supercharged ones, which gives them more power and better fuel efficiency over time.
A stunning evolution of Ferrari’s sports car line, which is not only faster than its predecessor, but also more efficient and can fit in a family garage.
This state-of-the-art vehicle was created as a result of teaming up Ferrari with Pininfarina, one of Italy’s oldest coachbuilders, famed in particular for designing high speed motor cars.
The two companies have produced an incredible machine that has a top speed of 205 mph and has an interior that looks like it came straight out of a luxury yacht.
For those who want to get behind the wheel, there are three different versions available: standard (458), convertible (488 Spider) and track focused (488 GTB).
However, all three models feature V8 engines that rev to 9,000 rpm and produce 660 horsepower.
As we said, power is up significantly. Rather than cutting carbon emissions, Ferrari has focused on improving acceleration time.
Base models get 570 hp and 389 lb-ft of torque from a turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 engine while top models have 661 hp and 561 lb-ft of torque courtesy of a turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 plus an electric motor. Both versions can hit 60 mph in less than three seconds.
Top speed is over 200 mph with either model. There’s also a convertible version that goes from 0 to 60 in 2.7 seconds when equipped with the turbocharged V8 engine and two electric motors. It tops out at 208 mph.
This may be one of those rare instances where you actually want to drive slowly.
You’ll also find a dual-clutch transmission and paddle shifters standard across all models.
For reference, you could opt for a manual transmission if you wanted but who would do such a thing? In any case, drivers should expect six different driving modes: default, sport, race, wet, eco and custom.
In addition to changing your throttle response and steering feel, each mode will change your gear shifting strategy as well.

It was also revealed that only 500 units would be produced each year until 2019, when production will then shift to 600 units per year.
The 488 name comes from two things: First, it represents the displacement per cylinder (4), 8 valves per cylinder (8), and all-aluminum engine block (488).
Second, 483 is part of Enzo Ferrari’s birthdate: March 18th 1889.
