Black Sherif is the first artist from Ghana to attain 200 million+ Boomplay streams

Boomplay’s Golden Club now includes the gifted rapper and singer-songwriter from Ghana. After accumulating up to 200 million streams total on the app, he becomes the first Ghanaian to achieve this distinction.

 

His self-titled debut album, which is currently at the top of Boomplay’s list of the most streamed African albums, has amassed a total of 141.1 million plays.

Black Sherif has published his debut album, which consists of 14 unfeatured tunes.

 

Due to the extensive streaming of his first album, “THE VILLIAN I NEVER WAS,” he was a member of Boomplay’s Golden Club with 100+ streams prior to the album’s release.

Black Sherif is the first artist from Ghana to attain 200 million+ Boomplay streams.

The teenage sensation has recently amassed enormous streams across all music retailers in the world and is dominating playlists and top international charts everywhere. On Boomplay, Black Sherif is now king with 200+ streams in the Golden Club.

 

Born Mohammed Ismail Shariff, the outstanding 20-year-old artist’s 2020 releases of “Money,” “Cry For Me,” and “Destiny” helped him earn some internet notoriety.

 

In 2021, Black Sherif issued his “First Sermon” and “Second Sermon,” which went viral and catapulted him into the public eye.

He expanded his audience outside of Africa thanks to a remix of his “Second Sermon” with Burna Boy. Due to this, Blacko was revealed to be Ghana’s second most streamed artist of 2021, and his songs “First Sermon” and “Second Sermon” were the first and second most streamed songs of 2021 in Ghana, during Its’s Recap 2021, which highlights statistics and insights of music consumption and engagement on the Boomplay platform.
